How do you bid these ? If you play 4♥(E) south leads ♣J, how do you play it.

I've posted a few "There's no justice" hands normally when I've been on the wrong end of them, this is quite the reverse.

I see nobody's taken up the bidding or play problems. We had a wheel come off in the auction and played 3♦ + lots, but because people went off in 4♥ we got a more than decent board.

Sitting West, without any interference, I would open 1♦ followed by 4♠.
I think seeing East's hand put me off replying, I want to do something but don't know what.
I rarely get it right. 1♥, 2♥, 1nt (10-12)

I passed the E hand and we started 1♦-1♥-2♠ (which by our methods is an underbid, AQ10xx, x, AJ10xxx, x would be more appropriate for that bid), I corrected to 3♦ and there we rested.

I would probably bid 1♦-1♥; 1♠-2♥ (9-11); 4♥-p. The 4♥ bid is dubious, but I find it hard to be objective having seen both hands.
4♥(E) is a tough contract. I haven't looked at it too closely, but I think I'd ruff the lead, play a diamond to the king, ruff a club with the ace, ♠AK, small spade. I think this is marginally better than cashing the ace of hearts on trick two and playing a diamond up, but I'm not sure at all.

ty for posting,
P-1D
1H-1S
2H-4H is clear now
My only question is that a NV 2h or pass opener?
As for the play my plan is ruff 2 clubs in dummy, cash AK spades, cross twice in D, in dummy cash AD and discard club probably...
going for evening walk now as sun is setting, hope I survived the plan..

This will work, S has ♥K107x in fact as long as you've cashed both diamonds first, you have a choice of winners to pitch Q♣ on as diamonds are 3-2 and S drops Q♠ doubleton.
We play a multi 3-9 or so, I felt this was a little too good and too defensive for that.
