Here’s something I’ve never seen before…a deal on which each side can take 12 tricks each in two different suits

I was watching some friends play a team match. Only one expert, who had the strong 5=5 majors as west. The other players were intermediates or advanced.

Neither team so much as sniffed at slam. In one match the north hand passed, the 6=5 majors did as well, but after west’s Michaels bid, east competed to 5S. At the other table, nort opened 1C and east passed (!). South gave an inverted raise (not my choice when partner could be 3=3 minors) and west bid 3C, Michaels. North bid 5C and east remained mute(!!)

The double game swing was very expensive but it could just as easily been a double slam swing. I’ve seen a fair number of hands on which both sides can make a slam, but never where slams in all four suits are cold….not a finesse or break needed. Admittedly, the club slams needs to be right-sided, but otoh a diamond lead from west seems improbable.
