IMPS

Comments on the auction welcome, no WJS, 1N 5-9 ish, 4 lead (standard UK leads A/2/4) E plays the 6 (standard count)

What do you do next, and if the answer is play the J, what do you do if a) it holds, b) W wins and plays another club

It's a pig of an auction for N, however it goes.
I don't like 3.

I can imagine:

1-1N
2-2
3(4sf)-3
?
Tempted to temporize with 3 (and now 3NT transfers the blame-transfer) but 4 is probably wiser.

Do you really want partner to pass 2 on some of the hands he will pass with ? 3 is just the most sensible bid here unless you're just going to raise notrumps

For us 3 is 6+ cards INV, equally NF.
I think we have too much for that and no sure direction, I would rather raise NT if 2 was not available.

2 is what you'd bid with a 5152 10 count

3 while NF is unlikely to miss game if it's on

I have a 10 count and he has a 6 count?
Opponent's silence is forcing.

An alternative auction using Ambra
1 - 2 5+ 10+ or 6+ 8-10
2N GF 15+, 2+ - 3 6+ 8-10, splinter
Now you have the choice of 3N/4 opposite 1633

In either contract you are likely to lose AKs and A. A finesse may be available in NT and a ruff in 4
