Sometimes in the Robot games the detail says "Best Hand." That's fine, but if my hand has less than 10 points mathematically it cannot be Best hand. Does anyone have an answer for this?

I agree with your statement; if you have less than 10 HCP, you don't have the best hand. So if you received such a hand, either you weren't playing in a best hand tournament, or there was a bug.
You'd need to provide the actual hand and which tournament you were playing in to figure out which of those two is the case; I've never seen the latter happen myself (though there was one instance posted on the forum 6 months ago related to ACBL 100 games, which was then promptly fixed.)

I have lost count of how many BEst Hand tourneys I have played and do not remember ever having fewer than 10 points - maybe was a different tourney type
Maybe it just wasn't the best hand

What are other BBF readers/posters supposed to infer from this post?
They are supposed to infer that I feel it is highly unlikely that they were playing a Best Hand tourney and had fewer points than the other players, but that I also feel quality of a hand is not always defined by HCPs
But I am just one person and many thousands of hands
Actually two of us now because smerriman said much the same thing
Was it my specific wording. Rather than saying fewer than 10 points in the theoretical lowest points you can have in Best Hand I can't remember ever having fewer than the other 3 hands. Others can argue if everyone having 10 hcps constitutes best hand
People could also infer that someone who has played many best hand tourneys over many years was trying to be helpful

Oh LOL, my sincere apologies.
Despite having read your post (what I believed to be) carefully, I interpreted it the opposite of what you wrote. Huge blind spot here.
I mistakenly thought you wrote "I too have had <10 HCP hands".
I feel super-dumb right now (more dumb than my usual levels).

ACBL NLM Daylong uses SAYC robots and is not best-hand. It appears like you played one of those before you made your post -- The ACBL NLM Daily its not a "best hand" game and it uses another type of robot which plays basic sayc (as opposed to 2/1 like the standard BBO GIB robots in other games).
