I would have transferred too, as I don't play Puppet if I can avoid it.

Why not?

It seems to leak information. Telling the defence that the opener has a five-card major opposite my shortage seems to help them more than us finding a 5-3 fit. I'm quite happy with standard Stayman.
The Beer Card

I don't work for BBO and any advice is based on my BBO experience over the decades

I know I said there are numerous forms of Puppet but I don't understand this one at all. Swapping the definitions of 4 and 4 so 4 is artificial agreeing spades makes sense, but if it also shows a club control how do you bid any hand that doesn't have spade support? 3-4 hearts, 2 or less spades, e.g. slam interest in a minor?

I don't, but I am just a mediocre/poor club player, not an expert with solid agreements and understandings of slam auctions in situations like this where partner has opened a strong two level bid. In my experience it is very very rare I have felt the need to investigate slam in a minor after a 2NT opening, but 2NT openings are very rare anyway, and the vast majority of the time partner or myself will hold a scattered low single digit HCP hand and will be looking for the best game.
