I often felt like the Laws of Duplicate Bridge may benefit if they are modified specifically for Online Bridge play (maybe a new set of Laws for online play).

During the 2020 Covid lockdowns, a friend and I used to interact via WhatsApp to keep ourselves busy. Among our fanciful projects, one was to create a document for Online Bridge Laws. Given that neither of us are really Law geeks, we sort-of gave up after a while. I mention this all because I came across that document recently in my PC folders!

This post is to ask the Laws experts or people who deal with such things whether the WBF is creating a set or subset of laws for Online bridge as part of the 2027 rewrite. I can share my/our document if it helps (not trying to take any credit here, just offering as a FYI).

Would be interested to hear views...

Something like the EBU Sky-Blue book perhaps?

The document we aimed at was significantly more "legal" than procedural or instructive. E.g., even Law 1 can be modified to eliminate superfluous stuff that is not relevant to online play.

It could, in theory, be made into a standalone Laws book.

Back in 2001 or thereabouts the WBF came out with a "Laws of Online Play" book. It was virtually identical to the f2f law book. :-(
