How weak is partner?
I’d not throw 3D or 4D at an inexperienced partner. I expect 6H to have play (heck, I’d expect 7H to often make) but I’d be leery of tabling dummy opposite a very bad partner.
Otoh, even a bad player will bring slam home with say Kx KJxxx xxx xxx….indeed, you’d like to be in 7H.
The ‘unlucky expert’ from Why You Lose at Bridge would bid 5D if exclusion keycard had been around back in the day (which it definitely wasn’t) or 4D, intending to drive to at least 6H. But a more practical player just bids 6H. Even xx Jxxxx xxx xxx gives us play so I can’t do less than that. I won’t redouble, lol, since weak partners crumble under that kind of pressure.

It was my RHO who held these cards and bid 6♥. Dummy came down with ♠K53 ♥JT653 ♦J42 ♣86 and made 13 tricks with the heart king onside. No-one else in the field had his or your insight so that was a bottom for us (one NS pair took +500 against 5DX-3).
