Opponents cannot play undoubled below 2N

Yet the player was allowed to play 2 undoubled.

I have noticed that it is a good strategy to run, when getting doubled on a low level

At the other table:



Here it is more difficult, but still 2 looks dubious

I knew GIB's redouble actions were messed up, but never quite looked into how much..

.. if you put yourself into West's position in the first auction, and hover over the description of pass of the 2 bid.. it promises 3+ hearts for some bizarre reason..

.. and there was a rule [and maybe still is] that you're in the balancing position and the opponents have bid a suit that you and partner have at least 6 cards in, and your maximum combined HCP is not enough for game.. not only can you pass.. but you're *forced* to pass.

I sure hope they improved things over the last 10 years and there's a better reason than that these days.

Seems there should be added rules for what to do after a penalty double, and they run :-)

I wonder if raising it a level (from 2 to 3) also will confuse the robots
