Profile double-clicking to see Profiles of players

Why is it necessary to sometimes click or double-click on "Show Profile" to find out the profile information for your partner or opponent? It seems to me that serves no purpose. Just simply click on the person once to get their profile info.

That only happens if you are the table host. If you are the host you have options when you click on partner's or opponent's username, one of which is "Show Profile". If you are not the host and click on the username the profile will pop up.
