Some people do, some don't, we open 1♦, but we're unusual in that we play 4M but open 1♦ with a 3442 strong no trump also. We don't mind occasionally admitting to a 5th card in a minor we don't possess, but don't like doing that with a major

How will you bid this after opening 2♣ ?
We would typically bid 2♦ to keep out of the way of partner.
2♦ denies A or K
