yuck...I'll vote for X and pull 2H to 2S... That auction is so bad its not even funny but whatever.

BTW please note i dont think im showing spades and clubs...I could easily be 6313 for that auction and be protecting in case pard had a pen X. My logic(if you can call it that) is that I would hate to reopen with 2S/2N/3C since I have the wrong hand type. If I X maybe partner will pass or bid something other than 2H and i'll be in good shape (I'll bid 4H over a 3H jump). If he does bid 2H, I again dont want to bid 3C, i'll just bid 2S. It's MP, my spades are good, its the 2 level... heh

As is often the case X or cuebid is an answer, if not the correct one.

Hmmm. Would double followed by 3C show this hand? If truly 5/5 or 6/5, reopening with a double is a poor choice, IMO. And pard should, I think, be bidding 2S with xx of spades and 4 hearts, maybe....?

At the table? Double and pull to 2S. I'm chicken. :P

Tough, if I DBL and bid 2 over partners 2, then I am not showing my values. So I will bid 2NT to get my strength across.OK my stopper is bad, but I am balanced and NT is played from the right side :P .

Hi,

I think you got the score you deserved, 3S is simply Anti
Law, you have a 8 card fit, so bidding 3S over 3D is simply
..., additionally Partner holds 4-3-3-3, which should deter
him from any action he may reasonable think off.

When you bid 3C, you're showing a strong 2 suiter not suitable for a take-out double, on account of the fact that your hand might not be good for defence. Hence he was completely right to compete to AT LEAST 3S.

You are sitting in pass out and you did just reopen the bidding.
=> Taking / Borrowing a king from partner, take partners king
away, you still think he has any right to make some noise with
4-3-3-3 ???

Partner should be happy, that I have raised the level and shut up.

100% agree. xxx xxx Kxxx xxx, with the K in opp's suit wasted against partner's likely singleton or void, means you are competing to 3S with ZERO. This is such a lunatic bid, it is similar to reading one of those reports about someone dying from crazy and stupid actions and nodding your head when the report concludes, "Alcohol may have been involved."

I accept blame for the balancing 3 bid. That being said, my temerity in not balancing with a double (pard would have bid 2S, I hope) due to my lack of H cards, I chalk it up to (even more) experience. My LHO held x, AQx, AJxxxx, AQx ...... RHO had JTxxx, Jxxx, x, xxx.
