VPN interfering with BBO connection?

I recently found that I had to disable my new VPN (NordVPN specifically) software to be able to get into BBO.
It's happened several times, but doesn't seem to happen consistently (i.e., sometimes I get in while it's running), so maybe another issue?
Anyone else see this issue?
