Another BBO member is a damsel named Frances
Who plays first class bridge by taking no chances
While bidding with flair
Her opponents did scare
And so won the tournament amid approving glances

Yet another BBOer is a damsel named Diana
Her online help service is just like manna
Whoever has a complaint
She answers with restraint
Could this be the BBO Forums very own Santa?

The poets on BBO forum
exceeded the maximum quorum.
If they can't learn to scan,
their posts we should ban
and restore us a sense of decorum.

noticed - much to his dismay
that talent is scarce
and this is a farce
but he showed all the others the way!
I want my opponents to leave my table with a smile on their face and without matchpoints on their score card - in that order.

Three-two-five-one-nine,
writes poems that nearly rhyme,
but raising the bar,
is a bridge too far,
because the wannabee poet tends to put far too many words into each line.

There once was a thread about rhymes
Brought back from the dead several times
It made me quiet sad
For the poems were bad
And no one suffered for their metrical crimes
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

There once was a man from East Transvaal
Who thought all 2-suited calls acceptable
He says Puppet is bad
And Multi just mad
And Mexican 2 awful

Two Brits of names Andy and PhilKing
Whose BBF posts always true ring
Shame their poems are cheesy
And they make me quite queasy
So I beg you this thread to an end bring

There once was a thread about rhymes,
Brought back from the dead many times,
It made me quite sad,
The poems so bad,
Yet unpunished for metrical crimes.

I think you have missed the irony in Phil and Andy's poems Don. Phil has "nine", followed by "nearly rhyme", plus the extra long last line "because the wannabee poet tends to put far too many words into each line", while Andy includes a break in meter on the line "And no one suffered for their metrical crimes." In other words, I think this was intended.

Your irony is clearly stronger
The lines you write are even longer
This is pretty hot
cause rhyme there is not
and no meter either!

It would be more accurate to say that I couldn't think of a way to make my limerick work, so I stole Phil's joke instead.

I'm impressed Zel. Mpumalanga is what was formerly known as the Eastern Transvaal.
