Chat and Mail Text needs Word Wrap! (User Interface fixes needed

I'm at latest version of BBO (at least I THINK I AM - how do you tell?) and my longer sentences/messages do not word wrap when shown in Chat/Mail. Instead I have to scroll to read them. I also cannot resize the chat window. These are painful interfaces and a ridiculously basic user friendly feature that should have high priority to fix!
