Hi. After logging in I cannot see my friends even when they are online.
If I’m already online, I can see the notification that they have logged in, but in my friends list it shows them offline.
If I start a new table I cannot sit them as it shows them as being offline.
Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong, or is there a glitch.
Many thanks.
Peter

This problem has arisen because BBO has split into two services: Home and Casual. It is explained here: https://blog.bridgeb...-5-6-0-is-here/

It is a good thing and a move in the right direction to try and scale the BBO platform, especially in peak times, but there are some side effects.

The problem you are seeing is that you and your friends are on different services.

When you move onto the Casual server to start a table you will lose sight of those players on the Home server.

This problem is made worse by using different versions of BBO clients. Hopefully everyone is using the latest BBO, either through a browser at bridgebase.com, or through an updated app on iPad or Android.

Those using an outdated client, either the original Windows client, the Flash-based client available on bridgebase.com (click here for the old Flash version) which is best avoided for a number of reasons, or an outdated app on iPad or Android, cannot access the new Casual server. So they will lose sight of anyone creating a table or watching on the new Casual server.

It is confusing. There is a short video with my explanation at https://www.bridgeba...ual-explained/.
The Beer Card

I don't work for BBO and any advice is based on my BBO experience over the decades
