Hi,
We're new to BBO. We were fooling around trying various features and somehow we activated a voice? button on the message line, where it says chat, but we can't figure out how to turn it on, on purpose. Can anyone help us?
Thanks,
Mark

If you want to talk to your partner, your opponents should be aware of what you’re saying. You can start a Zoom meeting with all four players.

Hi Mark,
You can use voice with your partner at training tables (teaching and bidding tables). That's where you probably found and used that.
To find that again click on Practice -> Bidding table (or Teaching table). You will need to manually redeal after each board.
These will not be scored hands, just practice and tools to review hands you have played with your partner.

You need to manually re-deal? How do you get partner’s cards to her?

Stephanie, I don't know if you are bored or genuinely curious to understand how this works.
Voice chat is available at teaching and bidding tables. the way these work is:
One deal is dealt to the table, either automatically if using random deals, or as requested by the host if using set deals (eg fetch a hand from a recently played tournament to review it).
So you sit there with your partner and discuss it, or re-bid it, or re-play it. And you can keep the deal on the table for as long as you need.
When you are done, the table host clicks on "Redeal" to move to the next hand.
All this is in the context of practicing.
At regular tables where there is a running score, things work just like in tournaments and you cannot talk to your partner during the game (at least not via the BBO interface).

I am very curious about how manually dealt hands are used online.

Ah, English. Not only Two Nations separated by a common language, but also with the variety and (lack of) consistency meaning that it is utterly impossible for ESL people to truly be fluent.
And, given my attempts to work in a much more constrained and consistent language over the past (and future, hopefully) winters, I remain constantly impressed with diana_eva in general.
