Most of the regulars have had this experience--another serious Gib error that has continued since my first robot game more than 2 years ago. Too bad that such an otherwise good website continues to use broken, outdated equipment for its robot games.
While I’ve continued to play, the penalties side of rewards-vs-penalties scale has gradually moved more towards the negative side. I’m now in ‘trying to quit a bad habit’ state. I gave it a long pause (double, unusual nt, or rebid diamonds?), before deciding to bid it the way I did and paid a stiff price. How can Gib continue to do this when our side could easily be left in a 5-1 fit or even 4-1?

Apparently the code that controls making a fairly simple suit preference is totally broken and unfixable for many different types of auctions. At least you are a relative newcomer and have only had to be annoyed with these auctions for 2 years. In 5 or 10 years you will be "really" annoyed.
