Partner opens a 12-14 NT in second seat. Both vul at IMPs.

You have: KJxx J8xx J6xx A

Do you Stayman or pass? (Stayman promises at least one 4cM. You have weak stayman 2C-2D-2H available but it would normally show 4=5 shape)

2, intending to pass 2 This is worse than passing 1NT if partner is exactly 3-3-2-5 and they let you play it and don't let you play unboubled when they would have set you in 1NT. So pretty unlikely. I 'd bid this way in imps though when 1NT-2-2-P does go wrong, it can go badly wrong. I'd be more enthusiastic about my choice at matchpoints.

Do I think I'm making game if partner has a 4 card major ? I'd suggest not, if partner has a 5 card major that's unfortunate, I'd probably stayman and pass partner's response, if he's 3325 that's unfortunate, at teams that seems a decent bet, at pairs I bid 2-2-2 but we have the arrangement that with 32 we bid 2 over this

As 10-counts go, it is poor - worth a down-grade if anything.

Ahydra seems to have 2 kinds of Stayman available. IMO, he should stil bid 2 hoping to reach at least a 4-3 fit...

It must have been a close decision given that the suit has a '6' in it :)

But I agree with other commentators that a bid of 2 as 'semi-garbage' Stayman looks best. You have three chances of hitting the right suit, as for the right denomination that's a completely another matter. You have no way of knowing whether you are playing in a 4-4 or a 5-4 fit if partner bids 2/2. If you then raise to the three level how's partner going to interpret whether if it is feasible to proceed to game?

We have enough points that I'm not really worried about 1NT, but I would not want to invite game opposite a balanced hand with a 4-card major (4-4-4-1 hands often don't play as well as you would like them to). I might find a better fit elsewhere, but it's often going to be a 4-3 fit. Even if we do find a 4-4 fit, we will have told them that a trump lead is likely to be a good idea. So they will get off to a good lead.

Given all that, I'm just letting partner play 1NT.
