Hi,

If you use windows XP while playing and get pop up messenger ads with grey background and a large ok button in the middle... if so, it is TIME to kill the messenger... here is how you can turn this "feature" off.

Click START menu
Click CONTROL panel
Click on ADMINSTRATIVE TOOLS
Click on SERVICES
Click on Messenger
Change Startup Status to DISABLED
Click the APPLY button

(note if you are on a corporate network, you may not want to turn this off, as this is how admistrators can send messages to all users..... but on home computers and laptops...you have no need for it.

Ben -

Thank you!

If you are using windows XP and get those annoying pop-up grey background windows that require you close them before going on, you may want to try this solution. Those windows are called messenger windows... and here is how you can kill them for free in the comfort of your home (more than half of the ones that pop up offer to sell you a way to stop these annoying "ads"...this way works, is reversible, and is easy....

If you ahve any quesitons... drop me an IM and I will help you figure out how to do this.

I just kinda got used to this disabling, being that I reinstall XP boxes frequently, my own to boot :). It amuses me to no end the people who spam you telling you how to fight spam - something is lacking in their credibility I think.

Take care,
John

POP Swatter

POP Swatter came to me as one of those annoying pop-ups informing me that they could help to get rid of such!

And yes they have - pop-ups are now killed by me! I am no longer disturbed by those sites I need to close before I can continue. I still have "http//0-00......", but that harms nothing and can be closed at a for me conveinient time. Whether that can be killed too - I dont know. But it looks like there are several kind of settings I havent looked into yet.

The annoying and disturbing pop-ups I no longer have!
