1NT = 12-14
1C = any 16+ unbal or 15-16/22+ bal
1M = 5 cards 9-15, unbal (unless you put a range in it here). Unbal would allow for even more direct raises to 3/4M.
1D = diamonds main suit unbal 10-15 or 17-19 bal (5M? depends on your answer here). Yes, that's not what I wrote on the other thread - I'm trying different combinations
2NT = 20-21

Side issue: the 17 can be moved into the 1C range (now 15-17) if desirable. If so, the 20 could be moved to 1D (now 18-20), again, if desirable, making 2NT 21-22.

The main question is what to do with the 3 relevant balanced hand ranges with 5M (12-14, 15-16, 17-19).

1) You could put them all in with the respective balanced openers, meaning 1M is now unbalanced.
2) You could open all the weak NTs with 1M. Personally I've never liked opening a weak NT with a 5 card major.
3) You could play 1M as upto 15 unbal or 15-16 bal, and open 1D on all 5M 17-19 bal, meaning the minimum 1C opener can't have 5M if min bal. This would be better in comp after 1C.
4) You could play 1M as upto 15 unbal or 17-19 bal, taking this range out of 1D or 1C. You lose a lot of the power of 1M-4M though if opener might have 19 high.

There's also the option of taking some of the 17(18)-19s out of 1D to 2C as per the other thread.

Seems like you'd be opening 2 (or whatever your catch-all is) rather a bit too often.

Also, my experience with big clubs has shown me that having 17+ hands outside of 1 is generally a mistake.

Millennium Club takes the 15-19 hcp major primary hands out of 1 (or 1 in your design) and argues that you are no worse off than Standard or 2/1. However, the problem hands in those designs is the 16+ hcp hand with a 5-cd major. I have tried both ways and concluded opening 1 with 16-17 hcp 5-cd major hands is best. Partly, because partner as responder could not get use to making 2-bids with 10 hcp and 2 1/2 cover cards (close to a limit raise) when I opened 1M with 5 1/2 losers.
