I know a lot of people who would pass with 4 trump. Likely making as your hand takes only 1 trick.
2♠ is really only choice.

OK that's what happened, and at the table I thought it was just unlucky. But then I looked at the hand better and started to wonder how close it is.

Not that close xxx, A1098, xxx, Axx would be a reasonable gamble, but against a preempt aces, kings and trump intermediates are key when you're not taking ruffs, as said above, you have one trick.

Yeah, no other choice and I've seen 2♠ go for a giant number at teams and be a push.

2 ♠ even if you're playing Lebensohl 2 NT over Doubles of weak 2s.

Playing Lebensohl, 2 ♠ shows a weak response and is not forward going, so it would be an underbid. But with only a 3 card ♠ suit, I can't see making the Lebansohl 2 NT bid, then bidding ♠ to show 6+ and ♠.

Pass would be tempting at matchpoints. At IMPs there's no serious alternative to 2♠ imho.
