Hi,

Can we do something to prevent posters from changing the font size or font face in postings? Would you agree on that? When you read a thread it's really ugly (to me) to see some phrases or portions in a huge font as if they were incredible important. Let the reader decide what is important and how important it is, we are not idiots. Colors, italics, bold and underlining should be enough formatting to "suggest" the importance or relevance of particular phrases or words without making the appearance of the post weird.
A particular bad example of using font sizes is when the signature of a post is a lot bigger than the message. I found that particularly annoying.
Maybe it's just me but I think that keeping all posts in the same font size can be more readable and nice to the eyes.

Maybe I'm the only one with this problem so this is just a suggestion/proposal.

I'm not fond of it either. I've been putting up with it because, despite the HUGE fonts, the worst offender frequently has something quite interesting to say and contribute.

It strikes me that it might be painful to filter out only the font size changes -- some software would have to parse the postings (I realize that is being done already, but the code may not be easily accessible).

Luis and other Font size problem people....

If you use internet explorer, do these clicks.......
Tools
General Tabs
Accessibility
then check "ignore font sizes specified by web page"

Then, check ok and apply....

When you choose this option, the "font size" set by a web page or by users here, would be ignored. I find when I use my laptop, the only way I can read this website is to do this (on other computers, I don't have to select this option). Now font size selection works...

To test this try turning this option on and off and reread this message where I "change" font size below for illustrative purposes...

This is size 2
This is size 4
This is size 10

Ben

PS... if you have a high resolution monitor and have trouble reading the forum messages, you can choose the ignore webpage font info and enlarge the text to a readable size... but other webpages will require you turn it back on so you can read them as they get screwed up if you choose ignore font size.

Luis, I have the same feeling as you about those posts with huge signature, and was thinking of praying the fellow to be so kind to reduce it.
