Fred, nice one very smart move.

I dont suppose you can make the field a bit longer for the alert info ?

also the teleportation device is brilliant

Hope we see some more of the same in the near future

Dear Fred!

The new toys are great! People will wonder how they could live without it before.

The prealert is a very nice feature.
As a user i can't get enough though, so I hope in a future version, i can predefine messages for bids, and select them right clicking on the bid.

Thanks so far

This beta version is going to be VERY POPULAR.. a lot of buzz about it on line today.

As an aside, this is a GREAT feature for yellows, as when someone calls for help, we can right click their name and instantly find their table. TD's will like this too I think..

Yup, 4.1.9 is great. I'm not sure whether I should be posting this in the TD forum or in suggestions for the software, so I shall randomly add it onto this thread...

I've recently started TDing, and was shocked at the number of disconnects there were. I'm guessing there were at least 40 subs used in an 8 board tourney that started with 100 players, and it wasn't like the tourney had ground to a halt or anything. There doesn't seem to be any easy way of blacklisting the players who have disconnected - I would have to right click on my name, open up friends/enemies, work out how to spell their name...and by the time I've done that, three more people have disconnected! So - is there an easier way of doing it, and if not would it be possible for a future version to allow you to set the status of a player who has disconnected by right clicking on his name?

Thanks everyone!

One change I forgot to mention in the original post is that there is now a "cancel" button (instead of a "logoff" button) in "waiting for permission".

I don't know if this is the place to mention it (but since the thread where you announced the new version is closed, I guess here will work), but it's rather counter-intuitive to figure out how to follow someone playing in a tournament. (If others are having issues: You need to right click, and go to player notes, this brings up the window previously available by right-clicking.) I expected it to be in the right-click menu, and when it wasn't, I had to do some searching!

Anyway, thanks for the changes otherwise, it all looks great so far!

That's probably one of the 'extra features comming' :)

Yes it's great, when whining at the forum about the rightclick possibilities are now implemented. Result! B)

I think the new version is great!

When someone is playing at a disallowed Kib table is it worth putting Kib disallowed msg into the right click option for info?

An option to follow a player during a tournament will be included on the right-click menu in the next version.

Also in the new version you will be able to right-click your own name to:

- edit your profile
- go in and out of be right back made
- turn on and off lobby chat
- turn on and off chat logging
- likely some other functions

Some minor bugs in 4.1.9 have been reported (thanks) and fixes for these will appear in 4.2.0.

Great work. I should say that the 4.1.9 is major milestone in improvements.

Joining a person at his table is a great feature which has been asked many times in the past here and this should make a lot of people happy.

Typing the explanation prior to making the bid avoids the delay for the next bidder. Many a time the next hand bids before the Alert is seen. This is a great improvement.

I will greatly appreciate a small change in this area. The box is now a blank box. If the same can be replaced with a box with a Explain window, this will help all the OKScript users who use automatic Alerts with explanation

OK Script needs to recognise a window. The Explain Window opens when you bid and press Alert. If this window is available, when it is your turn to bid ( instead of the blank box), this will greatly help the OKScript user. This will overcome the delay between the Alert & Explanation and the next hand bidding, so that the next hand will always see the explanation, before it is his turn to bid.

Very good job Fred&Uday !

The features added are of such a kind that they will impact many frequent tasks performed by all level of users.

Indeed a dramatic improvement, thx !! B)

Some other opinions ......

The pre-alert does not suit me. The white area looks odd to me.
I (and maybe many others) play with pick up partner and bidding is simple sayc or 2/1. There is no need for me to alert frequently. The original alert mechanism is good enough for me.

Could it be turned off in the coming 4.2.0 verison?

Huh???

The alert regulations of virtually every significant body require frequent alerts even if you are playing SAYC or 2/1 with a pickup partner.

You don't have to use the prealert area.
If you want to do things the way you always did, just ignore the prealert area.

I havent tried to follow a player in a tourney in 4.1.9. It already sounds troublesome to me.

I prefer the simple approach in prev version..... simply right click and get the window.... where u can make someone a friend/ follow throughout the tourney.

Sorry seems I am on the other side of the majority.

In 4.2.0 there will be a command on the right click menu to do this.

You will still be able to accesss the traditional "set status" window (which will continue to contain all of its traditional components) through right click followed by "edit player notes for X".

The alert regulations of virtually every significant body require frequent alerts even if you are playing SAYC or 2/1 with a pickup partner.

But I am not playing in the significant bodies.
And I could request no alert pls in those bodies.

But I am not asking Fred/Uday to implement 'no alert pls'. I see many features in 'Suggestions to software' as excessive.

I remember in some other posts Fred mention he come across with people unfamiliar with computers and strike to keep BBO simple. Hope Fred hasnt change his mind.

I understand it is always difficult to get the balance.
