I suspect that North realised that there is no way that 4SXX would be left in by the opponents (and perhaps not 4SX). If I were a human North I would certainly not expect it to die there. Not that RKCB is perhaps recommended, but if it decides that it is appropriate, this is its last chance. The remaining auction is a bit Salvador Dali, but I restrict my comments to the 4N, or to be more specific, the futility of XX or pass at that point.

The explanation of the 4S bid is truncated, and I suspect that North expected more from South. Thereafter GIB is not great at dealing with very shapely hands.
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

Your point about GIB's bidding is valid. I must wonder why you chose to show the SQ you didn't hold. Perhaps GIB then believed you held 5 Spades, therefore 6+ Diamonds.
