Grand slam was cold. I was mostly curious how to get there. 5♥ would have done the trick.

I would bid 5 ♥ which shows the ♥ control and forces us to slam. Partner took a free bid over 4 ♥, so should have values. By showing the control, I'm implying holding a huge hand. It's one of those momentum auctions -- if you have enough to take a free bid, I have enough to force to slam. Also, it may crucial for partner to know about the ♥ control for any further action.
