While not a great play, according to GIB the play costs nothing. Maybe it's trying to get entry to board with Q♠ but could keep ace and still play for entry.
Sarcasm is a state of mind

The ♠A play shines a spotlight on the deficiencies of double dummy analysis. One successful line of play look to be to knock out the ♣A first, hold up on hearts to exhaust W's hearts, and then finesse against the ♠10. Note that declarer needs to play a club after winnings the first heart, doesn't hold up on hearts a 2nd time, W throws away the 4th heart at trick 9 so E's hearts are isolated, and that E (sorry lycier) throws the ♦Q to keep worthless hearts.
