call me stupid but I don't get it!? South makes +1 on this hand if plays sensibly (just as Gib predicts trick 1)
pitch a ♦ on A♣ pull trump, give up a ♠ and last ♠ is good
maybe your referring to Gib not covering 9♥ on opening lead. think that's obvious play, playing ten cant help and can see potential of later overruff of dummy

That is exactly what I'm referring to, and I think many intermediate level players would take the bait on Trick 1, allowing declarer to take 12 tricks.

But I still hate the double-dummy thought process that allows West to play ♥9 on Trick 2 here:
I'm also not so fond of the opening lead, but my opening leads are bad, so I don't know...
