I lead 4,dummy 7,strangle Gib N play 6 with QJ986.why?

Strange. It may have been mislead by the weird 3c bid but even so it is hard to see how it can be sure that E has the ace sec

But maybe it just doesn't matter since dummy has no useful discards on the hearts anyway

Surely there are possibilities where South has led from Hxxx and it just takes knocking out declarer's one stopper to set up the heart suit for North. This is another of the situations where I'd like to see GIB hard-coded to go up in third seat unless he can see that it's likely to be actively wrong.
