LHO leads A, RHO plays 5 (std carding), LHO shifts to J.

Opponents are not reliable.

You need to establish clubs, which seems to negate a diamond ruff.
But then you need 6 club tricks.

Win in hand and cash the K.
If the Q drops draw trumps.
If not play J and run it.

Next draw trumps.

Against a good defender I would play for the Q to drop, since if West has Qxx he could beat me by simply continuing diamonds.

opps have 10 diamonds between them and nary a word so our
rather ugleeeeeeeeeeeeeeee contract actually has some
reasonable chance since the opps hands outside of dia are
probably balanced.

If lho was looking at Qxx(x) clubs it would seem far easier
to imagine a defense of another diamond to try and eliminate
a crucial dummy entry. Club finesse seems wrong given the defense
thus far so I would just draw 3 rounds of trumps play the club K
followed by the J to the ace and if the Q drops fine if not we get
the poor result our ummm "bidding" deserved. OH and the trumps I would
win the first with the K the second with the ace just in case rho happens
to have 4 trumps
