Just wanted to post what my experiences the past few weeks having trouble connecting to BBO, in case other users have been having similar problems.
After a lot of back and forth I have isolated the latest version of Chrome of Mac OSX as the primary suspect. It was difficult to isolate because after failing to connect with Chrome, my whole internet connection to BBO would end up temporarily blocked in a similar manner, even when using other browsers or the iPad and iPhone apps.
For now I am logging into BBO with Safari as a workaround; I will update this topic when the next Chrome update comes out.

I'm not sure why you're having trouble, as we have hundreds of other users successfully running with the same Chrome version.
But it's good general advice: if you're having trouble, try using a different browser.
