You are South and third seat. Imps. Unfavorable. A recent Bathurst/Moss auction.

This is an interesting deal for me because it can go different directions. Here's my "by the book" auction.
1C-1D 16+, 0-4 or 9+
1H-1S asking, asking
2C-2D an invitational hand opposite a DN, asking
3D-P 6D and no major
or I can force game via
1C-1D 16+, 0-4 or 9+
1H-1S asking, asking
3D-3H 6D and no major, 5 hearts
3N
the latter auction being fraught with the hazard of being raised or wrong-sided.
So I wonder if I can avoid this for at least 3rd and 4th seat auctions.
1C-1D 16+, 0-5
3N
if I want to gamble.
Just remembered some other choices.
1C-1D 16+, 0-4 or 9+
2N-3D balanced game force, transfer
3N
1C-1D 16+, 0-4 or 9+
1H-1S asking, asking
2N-3D 23-24, transfer
?
Nothing quite fits if I have to cater to 9+

Silent Club:
P-1♣ weak; strong
1♦-2♣ most 0-7-; "strong 2♣"
2♥-2N bust (0-2); balanced 22-23 NF
3♦-3♥ transfer; competed
p
Feels like not quite a GF to me.

3 small diamonds and 3NT is looking promising. Even better, ♦Q or 4 diamonds, and 3NT is looking great. Stopping in a part-score looks like double dummy bidding to me.

The notes say that the 1♣ - 1♦ - 3N is to play and is based on a running minor with some side stops. Is this hand too strong to qualify opposite a PH? Possibly, but unless a passed partner can produce a miracle holding, including a couple of Aces, slam seems remote.
If one considers the hand as too strong, the other choices are:

I'd probably duplicate the OP's auction

IMPrecision:
1c (16+) - 1d (0-4 or some GF)
2nt* - 3c (pass/correct)
3d - pass
* Minor one-suiter 21+ HCP. If GF then always semi-balanced.

3d - pass
* Minor one-suiter 21+ HCP. If GF then always semi-balanced.

Two-way pass:
pass 1♣
3♣ 3♦
3NT
pass = 0-8 or 15+
1♣ = 0-8 or 15+
3♣ = diamonds, 21+
3♦ = proceed at your own risk. I have a BAD hand.
3NT = could have passed if inspired

1C-1D (15+,H or pts)
2D-2H (almost GF 22-23 pts. 0-2 pts promise 4H)
3D-pass (natural, with a stiff D its easy pass)
This is the type of hand that i was talking about in a previous hand almsot gf (22-23) or equivalent are imo 10 times more likely that real GF hands.
After 1C-1D-??
For us 2D is 21-22 with a H fit or 23-23 bal or near gf hands and these hand happen all the time.
3C-3D-3H-3S are pure GF and they rarely happen. So I strongly believe that stuff like
2C--2H!--2S/3H (2H is direct negative 0-2) should be nf or at least you should have a way to stop in 3m.

From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

Polish:
1C-1D; 2N[21-23]-3D[transfer]; 3H-P
although GF'ing with close to 9 tricks (e.g. Dxxx, as mentioned above) is tempting:
1C-1D; 2D[art GF]-2H[double neg]; 2N-3D[transfer]; 3H-3N[4S5H]; P
