I hope you dont mind a dumb question, but I was reading the other topic on opening preemptively weak 2 suiters and printed off the ACBL GCC convention chart to review it.
I open the standard 2C precision showing 11-15 with 5 clubs and 4 card Major OR 6 clubs. But I cant see that the GCC allows me to do this . What am I missing ? I have been opening 2C this way for several years.

It's a natural bid and an opening bid (showing values, approximately 10+ unless pre-alerted) so probably included in...
1. An opening suit bid or response is considered natural if in a minor it
shows three or more cards in that suit and in a major it shows four or
more cards in that suit. A no trump opening or overcall is natural if
not unbalanced (generally, no singleton or void and only one or two
doubletons).

Yes this Precision bid belongs in the Natural Bidding Discussion section lol
just like when you open 1♣ you might have a 4-card major same reasoning allows 2♣ to possibly have a 4-card major
only difference is you promise 3♣ for 1♣ and 5♣ for 2♣

No, it belongs in the Simple Rulings forum. Please don't waste the time of all the forum members who couldn't care less about the ACBL's arcane regulations.

What happens is that if you *promise* a second suit (as opposed to "promise a second suit if I don't have N cards in the bid suit"), that makes it conventional, and certainly that would not be allowed (viz the "new" part of the GCC that specifically allows "2M to promise M+m"). But Standard Precision 2♣ doesn't do that - "most" of the time, you will have 6+ clubs, so while you may have the major, you certainly don't promise one.

Another example of mgoetze being an arrogant, snippy little jerk.
