Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Usually it would be the 2 but I'm prepared to be educated on more attacking leads.

Yup love all = noone has scored a game = both NV.

Just checking, are you in favour of a spade lead or not? The 't' in 'its' feels like it might be a typo.

yeah spade, not sure if low or high yet, I think high is better since it also covers Kx from partner if he knows to underlead. But we didn't support diamonds which makes it more difficult.

Ace is also OK but a little specific. It caters for pard being 1273 or similar. But low caters for more combinations - Kx, Qx and you will occasionally set it opposite Qxx.

Phil you also put down when partner has Kx after an ace lead as long as partner finds your entry

much much much prefer the ace to low. partner has pre-empted - the odds of finding a suitable honour combo are slim (especially given delcarer has the stronger hand so less scope for KJ misguessing and even if partner does have a doubleton and gets a ruff, we need 1 more trick which is most likely the diamond ace, in which case we had an entry to give the ruff anyway), whereas the odds of finding a singleton are pretty good.

*** Even more, my partner won't preempt 3D with two Major honors.
So I hope SKx (back by DK) or S-single trying for a S-ruff.

Lead trumps. Limit those diamond ruffs.

I admit my immediate reaction was the ace of spades, but a low spade is interesting.

My initial thought is A, intending to give pard a ruff. Of course, the best laid plans may not survive the sight of dummy B-).
