I passed at the table, which I considered fairly obvious.

The bidding was:
P - 1 - 2 - 2NT
P - 3NT- AP
I incorrectly (?) led a heart which allowed 9 tricks to come through.
Every other table was in a spade contract making 10 tricks.

and what does your original pass have to do with anything? The result was due to East making a horrible call that worked out. 2N was idiotic and had he passed, as would 100% of people who know how to play the game, you probably end up in spades, whether you bid them now or run after opener reopens with double, passed to you.
