I read on the forums that it would be a major code redesign to make robot bidding conventions user definable so that it is not an option at this time.

I wonder however how hard a single hard coded robot to the Audrey Grant learning to play bridge conventions would be?

I think the bridge community as a whole is really trying to grow their ranks. One of the issues is that the game has a fairly steep learning curve. I love that I have found BBO online to help me with learning to play the game by using three robots, but do have to say that the more advanced bidding system used by the robot is VERY confusing for a new player who is leafing through the "Audrey Grant Bridge at a Glance" bidding guide trying to figure out each call. I believe the Audrey Grant materials are used by a large number of the instructors out there and would think you could gain a lot of new robot renting BBO members if you coded a rentable robot to match those conventions. Potentially even approaching Audrey Grant to mention it in their training materials so all the instructors could point to your site as a training aid. I have looked all over the Internet and can't seem to find anyone servicing new players trying to learn the game market.....matching a robot directly to the lead training materials would seem to be a good idea.....I know I and all the other students in my class would love it and your robot rental prices are WAY cheaper than I`d be willing to pay for a learning the game training aid!!!

Adding any new bidding system to the robots would be a huge project.

If you want something to play like 1980s flavored Standard American your best bet is probably Bridge Baron.
