If one sends chat to someone else just as they log out or are disconnected the chat is instead displayed at the table, lobby or tourney, depending on where one is "located". This can result in some very undesirable outcomes: several times I have been involved in private discussion concerning cardplay or bidding at an open expert table and the recipient of the message was disconnected - my private message was displayed at the table. My opinions are intended to be private and I would not want to cause any offence or public criticism of any player, especially when they have been generous enough to allow specs. Is it possible to guarantee that private messages are just that: private?

If you try to send a private message to someone and they logout while you're composing, the message gets sent as mail. It doesn't get sent to the table.

Hi,

I think the behavior may be different when both parties to the message are kibbing. Will try to reproduce this in the next while, to be sure.

It looks like you use the old download version of BBO. If that's where the problem is, then you're stuck with it unless you switch to the browser version, since we stopped working on that program years ago.
