IMPs, second to last board, white on white.
The match is much closer than it should be, and you pick up the following freak

T9
Void
97
AQJ976542

Partner opens 4 and RHO overcalls 5

Name your poison...

(If you chose to bid 5 what does it mean?)

When in doubt, bid one more, 5. I probably have two tricks for partner, nothing to be ashamed of. 6 back to me is going to be a tougher choice.

Suggests a lead out of turn? ;)

MY ODR is very high and I have support, so 5 is easy, we will most often have problems on the next round.

I've seen the Offensive-to-Defensive Ratio mentioned a number of times lately .

How does one calculate it ?

IMO 5 = 10, 6 = 9, Pass = 7, Double = 6, 5N = 2, 5 = 1
5 seems strange although it might pick-off opponents' best strain; What should 5N mean? A trump-quality ask? perhaps ...

I'll bid 5. I'm not bidding more with what could easily be two fast losers in diamonds.
