The match is much closer than it should be, and you pick up the following freak
♠ T9
♥ Void
♦ 97
♣ AQJ976542
Partner opens 4♠ and RHO overcalls 5♦
Name your poison...
(If you chose to bid 5♥ what does it mean?)

I've seen the Offensive-to-Defensive Ratio mentioned a number of times lately .
How does one calculate it ?

I bid 5♠ but may double so they don't bid 6

5♥ seems strange although it might pick-off opponents' best strain; What should 5N mean? A trump-quality ask? perhaps ...
- 6♣ = Poor
- 6♦ = A or K
- 6♥ = AQ or KQ
- 6♠ = AK
- ... = AKQ
