Just curious, but do you think that North should double 2D?
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.
Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mstr-mnding) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.
"Gentlemen, when the barrage lifts." 9th battalion, King's own Yorkshire light infantry,
2000 years earlier: "morituri te salutant"
"I will be with you, whatever". Blair to Bush, precursor to invasion of Iraq

Prebalancing is a term which goes along with the OBAR strategy. It applies when the opponents have bid and raised (or made calls indicating a fit), and we are likely to have a fit as well.
It might or might not be a good idea to Double 2D here, but it is not a prebalance. BTW, I don't believe South will have that hand for a 3rd seat pass ---which diminishes the gold strike of playing 2DX. It does help to know in advance that South has "best hand", so the decision over 2D might be different in real Bridge with only authorized information.

Thanks. I was not trying to "result". I know that my third seat pass was off-centre. For some reason I find it seems to work quite well when short in the majors (in my experience to date), but that is definitely taking into account the "best hand south" UI.
Anyway, the main reason for North perhaps doubling is not to catch the penalty as here, but to compete in a major.
I didn't want to get bogged down in semantics. Whether or not doubling is good bridge is not a function of the label that we assign to it, and I don't think that GIB takes note of the best hand south UI.
I have sometimes wondered whether OBAR principles should be extended to situations where a single opponent has shown self-supporting length, not rquiring partner to actively support the suit in order for there to be a high chance of a fit, but maybe a weak 2 is just not quite long enough.

Ignoring South has best hand, West opening is not weak 2. It's 6+ and 10-12HCP. Promising solid suit. 3 of 5 honors, counting 10 inside.
That also could affect North to not double with 44(32) shape. Maybe with 54 majors or 5-5 more likely.
