it is generally safer to try and find a trump fit when one is some type of
5440 distribution. The standard for 4144 and (4045 4054) are quite different.
P can easily reverse or bid 2s with a hand that contains 18+ power so we really
don't need specialty bids for most of those hands. The more distributional you
are the less power you need to keep bidding beyond 1n. 4054 can bid 2c with
a complete minimum 4144 should have at least 14-16 4054 can bid 3c with
16-17 while 4144 should have 17-18.
These rebids are natural and non forcing and they hope to arrive in a better
spot than 1n and on rare occasion arrive in 5 and possibly even 6 of a minor.
a 4c bid should have 18-19 4054 a 5c bid should have 20-21 4054 and 4144
hands that are in the 19+ range should probably have a special bid for
themselves (I personally like to tack on 4144 type hands onto multi:)))))))))))
While I understand Gszes' reasoning, we have decided to just let it go with the weak 4-0-5-4's. The 4-1-5-3 and 4-1-4-4 in the 16-17 (18) range which doesn't quite evaluate to a jump-shift rebid seems to be more important to use for the 2C 3rd-round action so that we don't get too high.
