How is the 1D response defined in GIB, please? There seems to be an overlap of hands that potentially qualify for either 1D or 1N response to 1C opener, uncontested.

Say responsder has no 4 card major, at least 4 Diamonds, and values for 1N. Are there any subcategories where he would respond 1D in preference?

Thanks
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

Currently:
a hand with 0-3 in major cards

with any positive hand (6+TP) with 5+ GIB would bid 1.
then
with 10+HCP and 4+ cards in opening GIB could bid 2 in the opened minor.
then
with rest hands GIB would bid 1NT.

So with hands like:

3244/2245 6-9HCP GIB would bid 1NT

3343/3352/(32)53/(32)62 GIB would bid 1
