If we're white vs red and 4♦ is a splinter and partner's double shows diamonds (at least 5), I'd take the sacrifice. At least 9 of our HCP's are in diamonds and we're only winning one (if there's one in dummy).

So, we know that opener is minimum, because he was invited to slam and declined interest, despite that we know that he has no wasted Diamond values.
4D bid indicated some confidence in making 4S even opposite a minimum WITH wasted diamond values, so I am pretty confident 4S will make.
The question therefore is whether 5D will go for more than 500. At IMP, a 500 penalty against a making 620+ is only a modest profit. But at MP as here it is a must.
Put the opponents to the last guess. As jjbrr says, even 500 penalty is a bit pessimistic. You would be rather unlucky to go for 800 (and they still have to find it). 5S may well have chances of going down. Give them a chance to find it.
