What is the level of players in involved. For a Beg/Int I'd bet money this is a fistful of clubs and spade shortness.

Actually, that should probably be true anyway. Can you really make a 100% non-forcing pass and then have a slam try over an invitational raise by a passed hand?

Anyway if you do have a slam try what is wrong with an unambiguous 4 bid?

Hi,

Some questions to consider.

#1 do you have agreed to play supportX? If yes, do you play them as mandatory?
=> Pass over 2D may or may not rule out 3 card spade support.

#2 How loose is your weak two style? Partner showed a 6 card suit, but did not
open the bidding with a weak two. Colors may matter.

#3 What would be the meaning of 3C over 2D, do you have tools available to limit
openers hand, like an artifcial 2NT bid?

Having said that, whateverer I believe the bid may or may not show, opener wont have
a hand, that justifies the bid. As responder I would simply rebid my 6 card spade
suit, hoping to end the auction.

With kind regards

#1 We did play support X as mandatory
#2 Weak 2 requirement is quite harsh, at least 2 top of 3 honors to open weak 2.
#3 3C over 2D is good hand with invitational values as we dont have something like Good Bad 2NT.

Then you should have mentioned this in the OP. #1 in particular - you would (or should) have alerted Opener's pass online or behind screens; why would you not do so when asking for advice?

from this follows, that opener will have
#1 at most 1 spade
#2 weak opening bid, 6+ clubs, but correcting 3S to 4C makes only sense, if he will have 7+ clubs.

Opener disregarded the advice to getout as fast as possible in a nonfit auction.
