I recall posting a thread some months ago about Gibs throwing tricks and since that thread they have done it again, and again, and again.

Just now ops were in 2NT contract.

My Gib partner had the lead towards the end of the game.

Ace, king and queen of diamonds had already gone on a previous trick.

My gib partner had jack and 10 of diamonds in its hand.

It lead the 10 of Diamonds and then low and behold it lead a club next with ace and queen in ops dummy?

It never got the chance again to get the 100% certain trick with the jack of diamonds which would have set the contract.

What the hey is that about!!!

These things happen all the time.

The other day, I was playing in 4 with a trump suit of T9xx in dummy facing A8xx in hand. I won the opening lead and led a small spade from hand. LH GIB hopped the J from Jxx.

Other times I have seen GIB on lead with the setting trick, not cash it and it goes away.

Are these basic bots or the advanced bots? The basic bots are severely crippled, they are limited to very few deals to analyze with very little time so they play kind of terrible. Advanced bots are better, though they are sometimes bamboozled by not understanding the auction due to bidding database bugs (or weird opp bidding), and they still have the general defect of not knowing anything about signalling.

This was in an ACBL robot game. I assume they use advanced bots.

I seem to recall in my much earlier thread someone mentioned advanced Gibs, but I never found out how or where to get those?
I rent the Gibs via the website and cannot recall ever seeing anything about advanced Gibs.
I will look again.
Thanks

When from the lead of A, GIB partner drops the Q to give the only way to make the contract- the GIB declarer has 3 losers in that suit otherwise and one other. GIB is programmed to guarantee losing.
