6 count 5-5 with soft face cards at unfavorable in IMPs. Hmmmmmmm.... yeah definitely pass.
Give me a 6 count 6-5 with kings at favorable and we're talking.

IMO Pass =10, 2 = 4.

IMO Pass = 10, 2N (any 2 unbid) = 2, Double = 1.

Terence Reese advised that when you show a 2-suiter, you intention should be to suggest that your side play the hand, rather than to present the opposing declarer with a blueprint of the distribution.

This hand stinks but opposite the right cards can play very
nicely in 2 suits. I see no reason to start the festivities with
a cruddy suit which has a superb chance of supressing my
2nd suit. This isnt even taking the vulnerability into consideration
where conceivably we could end up down 7x vul becasue our
"suit" is so poor. Let's wait and see if p can bid anything that
makes our hand better.

Depends on your pard's tolerance level I guess. The old quote "Where is the hand you held during the auction?" as you lay down the dummy comes to mind.
