Double whether it is penalty or t/o (pen is standard but if you overcall light and don't play against idiots who bid 1N with random 6 counts, t/o will be better since they will almost always have close to half the deck).
I just don't understand 2H, I would rather be on lead vs 1N X if somehow it gets passed out, and if partner is pulling to 2D with a weak hand that is fine with me. Why play penalty Xs if you won't make one with a 12 count and a good lead?

I want my opponents to leave my table with a smile on their face and without matchpoints on their score card - in that order.

I make a takeout double. I thought this might be expert standard already but if it's not then it's on the way.

I was watching MikeH playing this hand last night, his agreement is that the X shows the 2 unbid suits.
I will post the full hand later.

Exactly.
If it's a misfit and they run, pard doesn't need a lot to double knowing I have this range/type of hand. If pard has to run, we sounded tough along the way. If we play it right here, I like our chances a LOT.
I make it around 3-1 for something good to happen.

Yes, double feels right. Am not sure we care this time how partner interprets it, unless she thinks it is some kind of spade raise
