True enough, and on the given opener's hand, when the smoke clears he will really wish he had bid only 2♠. After which maybe 2NT-3♦-pass and you might even make it.

That assumes that 3♠ was also passable. I am hoping partner never bids 3♠ in this setup.If he just assumes that I am too inexperienced to handle the bid properly that will be fine by me. He is probably right.
