You are South and Dealer. Vul vs Vul. Imps. If possible your RHO will overcall 1H. Your RHO will not double a 1H response.

I'd open 2N. I guess this isn't a spoiler :P I can't really give an auction where I start with 1C since the idea of playing a strong 2N with strong club is to help with your competitive auctions when you open 1C.

I also open 2N on these cards, rather than 1.

However do you handle your weak 5/5 minors? :)

OCP
For us, partner has 11-15, but not 13-15 balanced to semi-balanced.
No 5cM, no 5 or 6 card clubs with a 4 card major,
and no 5 strong club (approx 4 of top 5),
also no 6 card major, and does not have 5-9 with 55m.

On average we have less than 1 hcp advantage about 6.2 fit in each major,
roughly 6.8 card fit in minors.

RHO has an average 4.7 advantage over partner in hcp.

I have less than 11 hcp. The most likely options are pass, and X.

SCREAM bids this...

1C-1H 16+,2-4 QPs
2C-2D Stayman, 4+ hearts
2H-3S 1-2 hearts and 19-20 bal or slightly unbal, GF four spades
4S

For all our 1H response's faults, one nice thing about our Stayman sequences is that it lets opener play a (usually) 5-2 fit at the 2-level.

Opener could alternately relay the hand, but this isn't the greatest 20 count and there's no shortness which will improve the hand or lead to slam. Our system could be revised to better right-side the hand.

Polish:
1-1 (hehe)
2N-3 (18-23 balanced with exactly 2 hearts; natural)
4
Perhaps the auction will make A and ruff harder to find? :-)

Silent Club:

We don't have strong agreements for interference over 1-1 (unlike interference over higher GF responses), but I'm expecting a strong NT (extras) would seem better than a takeout double.

1-1-(1) strong; most 0-7, some GFs
1N-2 extras, balanced stopper (~19-21); stayman (GF smolen planned)
2-4

Hilversums Klaveren (HK)

2NT - 3
3 - 3NT

Expplanation:
2NT = 19-20 HCP, balanced
3 = transfer to
3NT = 5- card and 4-card
4 = non forcing

I am just going to treat the South hand as 18-20 balanced but that means North cannot force a penalty double. Hence 4. The overcall does have the effect of transferring declarership to South (it would have been North without it).

1 = 15+ nat/bal or 18+ any
... - 1 = most non-GF
(1)
P = 18-20 any or 23+ bal (or trapping)
... - X = relay
1NT = 18-20 bal
... - 2 = Puppet Stayman
2 = no 5 card major
... - 3 = 4 card major?
3 = 4 spades
... - 4

If East overcalls (1), South doubles, and (1X) is the final contract.

Marks, IMO: 1X/4 = 10. 4 = 6. 3N = 5. Partscores = 4.

I don't know my agreements, oddly enough.

Without the interference, it would go 1-1;1 (hearts or big BAL)-1;1NT (20-21)-2;2-4 (or 4 splinter-4 if I feel like looking for the magic 30-point deck).

With the interference, I'm either bidding 1NT (would likely pass 1 with balanced minimum, so this should be 19-21 or so, leading to 4S) or doubling (intended as "my bid"; partner should work out that I'm not likely to be wanting to show hearts in this auction). Doubling could be exciting, as my next decision could easily be whether leading the Q would show KQ...

4S-N in Unassuming:

1C-1H
2C-2S (19+ any / natural, 6-9 or 13+)
3S-4S (4 spades / confirming 6-9 only)

In Malfoir, it's less clear: responder is on the cusp between 1D (0-7 any), 1H (natural 8+) and 1S (natural 8+), because if opener has a minimum hand (and he does 2/3 of the time) he will promise 4 spades and deny 4 hearts, so responder often bids 1S with 4-4 or even 4-5 in the majors.

1C-1H-2NT(19-20; 1NT would be 15-18) followed by a checkback type auction is one obvious path to 4S-S. 1C-1S will lead to 4S-N of course.
If North takes the low road,
1C-1D
1H-2D (artif, 19-20 bal or huge hand / transfer to hearts)
2H (confirming 19-20 bal, 2 or 3 hearts) then north might bid 2S or might just raise NT...

What is 3 Kungsgeten? It seems impossible that this would be an invite with the given hand. Can North splinter over 2 or would that show the 17+ hand?
