North's opening is standard flannery, showing 5 hearts and 4 spades, and 11-15 points.
I might have bid 3 spades but I figured I'd play it doubled opposite a passed partner (RHO has 4 spades, right?)

For most people, 3 over a regular 2 preempt would show a strong hand with . Also, without explicit agreement, the meaning of the bid in the Flannery context might be open to interpretation. For example, it might show a running minor suit with a spade stopper and might ask partner for a stopper (or the other way around).

Regardless, a trump lead seems like a standout...

Hi,

If you bid, you bid 2S, why would you want to play 3S?

Pass is ok, now lead a trump, you have spade tricks to protect,
even if you dont like trump leads, this is a clear cut /
text book situation.

With kind regards
