Fluffy are you just being sexist by not doubling if it was the queen? :P

On the original problem, I can not resist!

OMG ! a topic that everyone agrees in BBF, maybe it is true that 2013 will be the end of the world !!

Someone please resist doubling and save the world ! :P

Sometimes you give him an awkward decision, but it's still right to double.

Sounds like it should have had play, at least. Your post makes it sound like you ended up in a totally ridiculous spot...

23 hcp with prime honors and great spot cards after they have preempted sounds like a very good 3N. We can shut out the preemptor and set up our other suits most of the time.

Of course, who cares since partner sometimes passes, or bids hearts, or bids spades, or bids clubs, or bids game in a suit, all of which rate to be very good for our side.

Assuming that 3N was a bad result, and that he didn't misplay it, this still proves nothing.

Double was clear, but very few things in life are risk free and I know of even fewer calls at the bridge table that are assured of success every time. Get over it or quit the game :P

Did the preempter have 7 to the K and an ace or something with partner having QJx ? it does sound like 3N should have had at least some play.

WTP here? Looks like an obvious balancing double of a 3 preempt.

Easy Dbl, I don't even care what the result is, I know that it's the right action.
