In a decent MP game partner leads the 2 (3/5) to your ace and then follows with the 3 when you play the King (declarer following the 9 and Q).
What do you play at trick 3.

I assume I played K-A in diamonds. I don't want to give suit-preference for spades.

Rainer's spade switch caters for a hand like Kx Jxxxx Qx Kxxx. A club switch caters for Kx Jxxxxx Qx Qxx. Partner also knows that we have a choice of defences, so his 3 should show K, but I'd have to be very confident in my partner before I relied on that.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Same for me Gnasher, I'd hope for the higher if he wanted a switch so low it is - Just in case N has Kx and I can make him guess.
